He stood on the edge of the cliff, looking out over the cold, frozen landscape. The skies were clear, blue, mocking. It shouldn't be this way... not for Him. He loved the winter, and it wasn't right that He should be without His favorite part of it.

The tiger pressed both of his broad paws to his chest, feeling his own heartbeat, sinking deep into himself, feeling for that one part of him that wasn't him, the part of him that could feel... Him. His Heartbeat. His pulse. His breath. The tiger did this for Him.

Upon finding that place, their place, the point between waking and dreams that they shared, he drew upon it, filling his being with His desire, his wish, his dream for these stark, cold, grey mountains to be a beautiful crystalline white, to be covered in a blanket of pure snow.

Lifting his eyes to the sky, eyes that seemed to reflect that so suddenly harsh cerulean, he took a breath, and closed his eyelids, and somewhere, from deep within him, words he did not understand, words that were a memory of a memory, of another self, came to his lips.

...and the tiger began to sing.

His voice carried over the cliffs, echoed through the valleys, and called to the skies. Black stripes became something else, as if a window into the cosmos, they shimmered. becoming... something else, as if another self was beginning to assert itself on his form. Yet still, he held.

Responding to the haunting, forgotten melody, the clouds began to gather, thin, wispy ribbons of white high in the sky, then lower, thicker, darker. the wind began to blow softly, the temperature dropping lower as the lost words carried with them their magic.

And the first few flakes of virgin snow began to fall. slowly at first, then thicker, heavier, a storm of stars fallen to earth, drifting on the winds that surrounded him, caressed him, winds that answered this forgotten call.

The snow began to build, to pile at his feet, and still, he sang, calling forth more and more of this lost power, giving everything he had to that one special person in his life. He gave the gift of snow. the gift of winter.

He sang until his voice could stand it no more, and when he opened his eyes, as silver as the clouds that brought this precious gift, He smiled. The landscape was transformed. What was once harsh and grey now was soft and white, like clouds come to earth, caressing the landscape with their velvety touch.

Looking down, he saw that the snow came up to his knees. It pleased him, because he knew that He would be elated to see this wintry landscape, that he had brought winter to Him...

the clouds, their job complete, retreated beyond the mountains, as if to rest, to bring it again, and again... and again...

To bring once again to Him, His frozen dream.
